Get a fix ...

... on a theme for a 3500 word article on "India - the land and the people". Any ideas?

Please, folks. Comment, mail, call even.
This is desperate. (How I hate deadlines.)

Cunning. Cunning. First you draw us in by promising us a post then you make us write for you. Bah.

Too many people, not enough land.

Big, scary, empty canvas is what that topic is. (And I am guessing this is somehow related to August 15th?)

How about narrowing its scope down to maybe one tiny piece of land and one (tiny or otherwise) person?

I am now reading "the argumentative Indian", by Amartya Sen (another old Bong, eh). History, Culture, Peace, Buddhism.. so many things come to mind. But the best would be the Indian spirit.

How about the food? All the different food.

I recall you emailing about that. I'm glad we didn't start that food blog then, it'd have fungus right now.

How about getting bombed every alternate month and showing sheer spirit -- because there is no other option? It's all about the people sir- whether in numbers or in character.

I didn't want to share any idea with you . But didn't dare to disobey a senior public servant whilst staying in Kolkata:)))))

For what it's worth, I finally finished it and sent it off. Last week. Almost a month behind schedule. God bless my publishers.

And the suggestions helped. Many thanks, all of you.
